Description

Sydney singer Lucky Starr and his troupe got a riotous reception from members of the RAAF contingent, when they put on a show at the airmen's tent lines at Vung Tau Airbase on Boxing Day. They performed on a trailer rigged up as a stage outside the Airmens' Club, known as the Ettamogah Hotel. In the concert party with Lucky Starr were a group of singers, The Rajahs, comedian Terry Scanlon and New Zealand singer Sheralyn Blake. After the show, the airmen entertained the performers at the Ettamogah Hotel. President of the Airmen's Club, A216932 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Malcolm Robert (Buddy) Rose, of Richmond, NSW, (left) a loadmaster with No 35 Squadron, RAAF, thanked Lucky Starr on behalf of the airmen after the show.
