Description

Cylindrical container type M105A2 for the transportation of 105 millimetre ammunition. The cartridge container is made from cardboard fibre and on each end has a 137 mm long slip on cardboard cap with a tin-plated steel end crimped onto the cardboard. Fixed inside the cylinder at the middle of its length is a plywood disk 14 mm thick with a 65 mm diameter hole. When packed this disk separates the mouth of the brass case on one side from the projectile on the other. The hole in the middle allows part of the nose fuze to project into the opposite cavity. The container is painted black. Stamped into each metal cap end is - 105MM HOW. CONTAINER M105A2.
