Description
The South Vietnamese Premier, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Nguyen Cao Ky, whilst on a ‘getting to know you tour’ of the Australian camp at Nui Dat, dives to the ground and is covered by his bodyguards when a second 81mm mortar misfired. The malfunctioning mortar did not explode, and nobody was injured apart from a few bruises. Note the photographers in the background record the scene.
