M2 60 mm Mortar Barrel Baseplate
Description
M2 mortar baseplate made from steel. The baseplate is square in profile and has anchor spikes on the bottom of the base. the centre of the basplate has a ball and socket joint for locating the mortar barrel. The baseplate is painted olive drab.
History / Summary
The M2 60 mm mortar was the standard light infantry mortar for US forces in the Second World War. The mortar consists of three main components, the mortar tube, bipod and the baseplate. This mortar is complete with base plate, bipod and M4 sight clinometer.
