The original cross and grave of VX25853 Private Christopher Moody Walker, 2/14th Battalion, of Macedon, Vic. Prior to enlistment on 3 July 1940, Walker was employed as a journalist, Associate Editor with the Sun News Pictorial. He was killed in action, aged 40, in the Middle East on 24 June 1941 and is buried at Beyrouth Extension British War Cemetery, Syria.
