Description

Standard RAAF issue yellow waistcoat style life preserver in cotton with inflatable internal rubber bladders, three plastic buttons down the front for securing, and a series of pockets and attachment points secured by snap fasteners. A rectangular cotton panel has been sewn to the middle reverse of the preserver with the number 18 silkscreened in aqua. Rear of neck stamped in black with RAAF specifications, size (small) and maker's logo. Serial 5422; dated 20 October 1965.
