Chief of Air Staff, 0338 Air Marshall (AM) Sir Colin Thomas Hannah, CBE, OBE, OB, of Menzies, WA (centre), intently questions Flying Officer (FO) Arthur Lowe, (left) (unable to further identify), captain of a Bushranger gunship in Vietnam 1970, about the morning¿s sortie. FO Lowe migrated to Australia in 1963 from Belfast, Northern Ireland where he served in the Royal Air Force (RAF). With them is the Commanding Officer of No 9 Squadron, RAAF, 026006 Wing Commander (Wing Cdr) Peter Lionel Howard Coy, (right) of Hackett, ACT. In the foreground is the port half of the gunship's formidable armour. The 7.62mm mini gun which can fire at a rate of almost 5,000 rounds a minute, rocket pod with seven 2.75 inch rockets, and twin M60 waist guns which can cover the enemy position as the aircraft turns away.
