Stalag Luft III prison camp, Germany
Description
A small watercolour study of buildings within Stalag Luft III in Sagan, Germany. The subject matter of this work is similar to 'Cookhouse, Stalag Luft III, Germany' (ART28574), and so is likely to also show the 'cookhouse' behind the basketball court. While Taylor pays attention to these details, his primary intention remains describing the atmospheric conditions - the quality of the sky, heavy with rain clouds, and the pool of water on the ground. Taylor competently exploits the characteristics of this media to describe the water-laden scene.
