Description
Sister McLeod (probably F51997 Lieutenant (Lt) Joan Barles MacLeod, originally of Scotland) sitting in the right hand seat in a light aeroplane on a joy flight on her day off duty. Lt MacLeod joined the Citizens Military Forces (CMF) as an adventure after coming to Australia from Malaya 1967. She liked this so much that she joined the regular army as a further adventure and now her short Army experience is being highlighted by a tour of duty in a war zone. She served in Vietnam from 14 May 1968 until 23 May 1969.
