Studio portrait of 179 Private (Pte) Henry Richard Alfred Pix, A Squadron, 9th Light Horse Regiment, 3rd Light Horse Brigade, of Melbourne, Vic. Pte Pix enlisted at Port Lincoln on 11 September 1914 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Armadale on 12 February 1915. On 6 November 1915 at Gallipoli Pix was promoted to Lance Corporal (L Cpl). L Cpl Pix was killed in action in the Canal Zone, Egypt on 23 December 1916 aged 25 years. In 1919 his remains were exhumed and re-interred in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt.
