A pair of American M109 self propelled 155mm howitzers crossing a flooded creek, as they return to Nui Dat after completing an operation supporting Australian troops at Bin Ba village. The M109 series was developed in the 1950s and the first production vehicles were completed in 1962. They were used extensively during the Vietnam war.
