Side view of an M113A1 armoured personnel carrier (APC) with the call sign three one (31) and named '31 BLOOD', attached to B Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armoured Corps. The vehicle is equipped with a T50 steel turret, fitted out with a .50 calibre M2 HB Browning heavy machine gun. A pintle mounted .30 calibre L3A4 Browning medium machine gun is fitted to the turret top. A row of .30 calibre ammunition boxes are visible in racking fixed to the roof deck and a .50 calibre ammunition box has been fitted to the turret side. The two antennas are respectively connected to AN/VRC 46 and AN/GRC 125 wireless sets, which are carried within the vehicle. Note the sponson reinforcement armour fitted above the first three road wheels. A Centurion Mk V/I (Aust) main battle tank, from the 1st Royal Australian Armoured Regiment is visible (left).
