Description
Four M113A1 armoured personnel carriers (APC), from A Troop, B Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armoured Corps. The troop leaders vehicle three one Alpha (31A) is the first vehicle in line (foreground) and is named '& TEARS 31A'. All the vehicles are fitted with T50 steel turrets and are armed with pintle mounted .30 calibre L3A4 Browning medium machine guns (MMG) and a mixture of turret mounted .50 calibre, M2 HB Browning heavy machine guns and .30 calibre L3A3 Browning MMGs. Note the long row of ammunition boxes in the rack attached to the roof deck on the first vehicle. All the vehicles appear to be fitted with additional belly and sponson armour.
