Description
Studio portrait of 2951 Private Joseph James Augustine Weathers, who enlisted in June 1916 and had been allotted to the 9th Light Horse Regiment. He asked to be disharged (perhaps at the request of his mother, because his two brothers Frank and Lawrence had already enlisted [Frank died in the Gallipoli campaign], and Joseph was needed by his family). Lawrence was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1918. This is the third part of a composite portrait of the three Weathers brothers (P05212.001).
