Description
Studio portrait of 4076 Private (later Corporal) Harold George Clements, 23rd (later 59th) Battalion of Auburn, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wiltshire (A18) on 7 March 1916. On 19 July 1916, he was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France, aged 26. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on panel 15 of the VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France.
