Studio portrait of Frank Leicester Cousins of Dunolly, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 11 October 1915 as 3296 Private Cousins with the 7th Battalion. On 19 July 1916, as 2nd Lieutenant Cousins of the 59th Battalion, he was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France during the Battle of Fromelles, aged 24 years. He has no known grave, and is remembered with honour on the VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France.
