Description
Studio portrait of 678A Private (later Lance Corporal) Patrick Leo Kelley, 6th Machine Gun Company (later 22nd Battalion) of Fernbank, Macarthur, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Suevic (A29) on 21 June 1917. On 4 October 1918, he was killed in action during operations near Beaurevoir, France, aged 22. He is buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gouy, France.
