Description
Studio portrait of 323 Lance Corporal (later Company Sergeant Major) Thomas Patton, 7th Battalion of Yerong Creek, NSW. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata (A20) on 19 October 1914. On 13 July 1915, he was wounded in action at the Dardenelles, Turkey and moved to the Military Hospital, Malta where he died on 9 August 1915, aged 24. He is buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
