Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) Stanley Claude Robinson of Albert Park, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor (A34) on 21 November 1917, after resigning his commission, as 6877A Private Robinson, 24th Battalion. On 12 June 1918, while on the front line near Vignacourt, France, he was wounded in action and died later that day at the 20th Casualty Clearing Station, France, aged 25. Lt Robinson is buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery, France.
