Studio portrait of 2747 Private (later Lance Corporal (L/Cpl)) Charles Reginald Perrin, 58th (later 60th) Battalion of Elsternwick, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 2 October 1916. On 9 August 1918, he was killed in action near Villers-Bretonneux, France, during the advance on the Amiens front. He was aged 40. L/Cpl Perrin is buried in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
