Studio portrait of 3075 Private (Pte) John Macdonald Grant, 3rd Battalion, of Woodford Leigh, NSW. A farmer prior to enlisting on 27 August 1915, Pte Grant embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Suevic on 20 December 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 17 August 1916, aged 32.
