Studio portrait of 3858 Private (Pte) George Sandeeson (name incorrectly printed beneath image as Sanderson), 47th Battalion, of Grafton, NSW. A teamster prior to enlisting at Mullimbimby, NSW, on 25 August 1915, Pte Sanderson embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Suffolk on 30 November 1915. He died of wounds in France on 8 August 1916, and is buried in Heilly Station Cemetery Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
