Referring to journal, early training and by sea to Burma; nine months of rations and malaria; encounters with orangutan, Japanese and wild boar; arrival of Japanese and search for Python party; story of fire ants; capture of Rudwick and MacKenzie; hiding and survival in Borneo jungle and encounters with leeches and other pests; the hen and the double yoke; missed pick up by USS Redfin; evacuation on submarine USS Harder; deteriorated condition of party; issue of potassium cyanide; clothing and equipment; shooting a pig and other stories; encounters with Japanese while on board USS Harder on the way to Darwin; arrival in Australia. Corrections to story; crossing the equator in a submarine.
