[interview possibly continues from S04057] Syer talks about Vivian Bullwinkel hiding from the Japanese and finding wounded Englishman, Kingsley from ship HMS Prince of Wales; wound septic and soldier very ill; found by local people; Bullwinkel finds bodies of men from Vyner Brooke massacre; tries to bury some; helped by local women but men afraid of Japanese and reprisals; villages being burned; eventually picked up by two Japanese officers in a car and taken to camp with other POW nurses; Kingsley dies that night; Bullwinkel suffering from infected mosquito bites. Media rush back in Singapore; controversy over documentary. - Break in recording -

Les Bond making torpedoes at Toya steel and story of Joe loosing toe; description of planes fly over, one the 'Anola Gay' on training run; buried burned school children in mass grave in Kobi; talks about Horton, Captain in English Middlesex Battalion; describes typhoon that hit some ships and planes on way home; describes his trip home on hospital ship.
