Informal portrait of Warrant Officer Class 2 Gary Hunter outside the accommodation barracks used ...
Informal portrait of Warrant Officer Class 2 Gary Hunter outside the accommodation barracks used by the Commonwealth Military Training Team - Uganda (CMTTU). These barracks were the old British Military Camp at Jinja constructed in the 1930s and was originally the home of the elite British Army King's African Rifles. After independence, the barracks became the Ugandan School of Infantry. Note the two Land Rovers with the registration plates CMTT 1 and CMTT 6. The CMTTU was a 36 man team, from seven Commonwealth countries, and its role was to train and discipline the Uganda National Liberation Army, formed after the overthrow of Idi Amin. The participating countries were Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Guyana and Tanzania.
