Group portrait of members of the second Australian contingent to the Commonwealth Military Training Team - Uganda (CMTTU), who were in Uganda between September 1982 to March 1983. Identified, left to right: Sergeant (Sgt) Bruce Beaton, 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR); Warrant Officer Class 2 Gary Hunter, 8/9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (8/9RAR); Major Pat Cullinan, 6RAR; Captain Thom Moylan, 6RAR, and Sgt Rod Smith, 8/9RAR. The CMTTU was a 36 man team, from seven Commonwealth countries, and its role was to train and discipline the Uganda National Liberation Army, formed after the overthrow of Idi Amin. The participating countries were Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Guyana and Tanzania.
