Informal portrait of NX55243 Corporal (Cpl) Eric Clift MacKay, 2/156th General Transport Company, of Concord, NSW. Cpl MacKay enlisted in Paddington, NSW on 28 June 1940. Cpl MacKay served in the Middle East and was one of the famed 'Rats of Tobruk'. He later died of illness in New Guinea on 24 January 1944, aged 30.
