Ewart reads description of fighting at Mersing and Kranji, Singapore; death of Major Cohen; casualties and wounded; comments that not enough officers were available in headquarters area to give orders to units; Ewart wounded in neck; motorbike blown up and received shrapnel injuries; missing CO; help from locals; three days in hospital; 12 February 1942 returned to duty wearing found and borrowed clothing and equipment; delegation to Bill Gaden; 44th Indian Brigade; hard time convincing division headquarters of events; returned to unit; fate of officers; Don Wall explains his reasons for writing the book and the direction of profits.
