The Regimental Orderly Room behind the trenches, built from sticks and hessian bags, a flag flies from the roof of the hut on a pole. The reverse side of the photograph reads 'This little hut we were using for the Regt Orderly Room it is situated behind the trenches and when the Germans attacked the positions here a few of there (sic) snipers got in behind the Redoubt and were firing down in to this quarter, it was very warm for a while until our boys captured them all. They caused a few casualties, one bullet went through our Signalling Officer's mouth and out into the Adjutant's shoulder and I was there at the time so that is close enough to be near. They hit a few others and killed my horse and also wounded some more so we were busy. Captured over 1000 Germans.' An unidentified soldier stands to the right of the hut.
