Studio portrait of 6763 Private (Pte) Abner Anderson, 20th Reinforcements, 17th Battalion, of Stockton, NSW. An engineer's apprentice prior to enlisting on 28 May 1917, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Beltana on 16 June 1917. Pte Anderson served in France and Belgium and died of wounds on 18 October 1918, in France, aged 18 years.
