Description
Lance Corporal Rankin, of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, ? Marine Regiment, United States Marine Corps (USMC), is baptised in a makeshift pool in what appears to be a ruined building. The pool consists of a base of plastic sheeting, secured at the edges with sandbags and filled with water by a hose. The USMC is serving in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military response to the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
