Description
A member of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, ? Marine Regiment, United States Marine Corps (USMC) sleeps on the ground beside his pack, personal equipment and M16 rifle, in the United Nations (UN) compound. Behind him other marines are seated on a stretcher bed. The USMC is serving in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military response to the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
