Description
Afghan men and boys study a vehicle bringing members of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, ? Marine Regiment, United States Marine Corps (USMC) into Jalalabad. The boot of a marine, seated on the roof of the vehicle, is resting on an an interior strap. The marines are patrolling towns and villages, searching for weapons and suspected members of the Taliban. The USMC is serving in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military response to the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
