Description
A member of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, ? Marine Regiment, United States Marine Corps (USMC), probably on guard or lookout duties, sits in the open on a plastic chair in Watapor (or Watapoor) villlage. Written on a strap on the back of his helmet are the words '03 KILL 'EM ALL'. The marines are patrolling towns and villages, searching for weapons and suspected members of the Taliban. The USMC is serving in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the military response to the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
