Studio portrait of 1975 Private (Pte) Thomas Harold McCord, 17th Battalion, of Mount Victoria, NSW. An electric tram driver prior to enlistment on 9 June 1915, Pte McCord embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements aboard HMAT Runic from Sydney on 9 August 1915. He received gun shot wounds to both legs on 20 September 1917 whilst fighting in Belgium, and was taken to the 46th Casualty Clearing Station where he died on 22 September 1917, aged 31 years.
