Studio portrait of 2487 Private (Pte) Bertie James Hunter, 17th Battalion, of Old Junee, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting on 31 July 1915, Pte Hunter embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Themistocles on 5 October 1915. He was killed in action on 9 October 1917, aged 21.
