Studio portrait of 5053 Private (Pte) James (Jamey) Coleman Clarke, 45th Battalion, of Camden, NSW. A boot repairer prior to enlisting on 28 December 1915, Pte Clarke embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 31 March 1916. He died of wounds at Pozieres, France on 12 August 1916, aged 30.
