Description
Unidentified Chemistry Section personnel standing on the beach and equipping themselves with protective clothing. They are preparing to take porton bubblers, used for measuring the concentration of mustard gas in the air, to pre-selected sites on the island for the second Brook Island mustard gas trials. Three of the five trials done were by the Australian Chemical Warfare Research and Experimental Section, later known as the 1st Field Trials Company. The other two trials were done by the United States (US) Army.
