Description
An unidentified Australian soldier examines part of an enemy camp and bunker system that was assaulted and captured by the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), during Operation Overlord. The large and well-designed bunker system had previously been occupied by elements of 3 Battalion, 33 North Vietnamese Army (NVA) Regiment. The soldier is either from 3RAR's Pioneer Platoon or from 2 Field Troop, 1 Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE).
