Description
Inside a sunken ammunition bay used by 'C' gun, 105 Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, to store 105 mm rounds for the L5 Pack Howitzer. Visible are four circular plotting instruments used by the gunners to record range and fuze settings. Below them is a large selection of tools including shovels, picks and axes. These bays were dug adjacent to each gun pit and provided a ready source of ammunition for each gun in the battery.
