Description
Studio portrait of 4573 Private (Pte) Oliver Tresize, 19th Battalion, of Sydney, NSW (originally a merchant seaman of Epsom, Surrey, England). Pte Tresize enlisted on 11 December 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Nestor on 9 April 1916 with the 11th Reinforcements. He died of wounds sustained during the Battle of Passchendaele, Belgium, on 5 November 1917, aged 22 and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
