Description
Studio portrait of Captain Duncan Victor Mulholland, 1st Battalion, Australian Machine Gun Corps, of Ashfield, NSW. A bank accountant prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Suevic (A29) on 13 June 1915, as 655 Corporal Mulholland, 12th Light Horse Regiment, Machine Gun Section. On 31 May 1918, aged 26, he was wounded in action at Strazeele, France and died of his wounds later that day at the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance Station, France. He is buried in the Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, France.
