Studio portrait of 2128 Private (Pte) William Charles Ravaillion, 3rd Reinforcements, 35th Battalion, of Epping, NSW. A telegraph linesman prior to enlisting on 3 April 1916, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Anchises on 28 August 1916. Pte Ravaillion was wounded at Villers-Bretonneux, and died while a prisoner of war at a German military hospital at Peronne on 5 April 1918, aged 25 years.
