Description
Larry Adler, American born harmonica virtuoso, plays the harmonica during a concert on a temporary stage on the flight deck of the RAN aircraft carrier HMAS Sydney (III). A Canadian soldier is accompanying Adler on the guitar. Sailors have crowded around the stage while others are seated on several Sea Fury fighter aircraft, parked on the flight deck with their wings folded. In 1949 Larry Adler left the USA, moving to Great Britain, after being blacklisted by The House Un- American Activities Commission (HUAC). During the Korean War he toured in Korea and Japan entertaining troops.
