Studio portrait of 556 Lance Corporal (LCpl) Keen Charles Congdon, 37th Battalion, of Yarraville, Vic. LCpl Congdon enlisted on 10 February 1916 and embarked from Melbourne, Vic, aboard HMAT Persic on 3 June 1916. He was killed in action on 12 October 1917 in Belgium. His brother, 1427 Private Reuben Cheverley Congdon, 5th Battalion, who was killed in action a few days earlier, on 4 October 1917 in Belgium.
