Pair hand made wooden clogs : Captain W E F Oram, 13 Australian General Hospital
Pair of roughly carved wooden clogs with rubberised fabric toe straps nailed on to each side. One clog is missing its strap and has only the remnants of it attached to the right side, although the nails are still in place on each side.
Made and worn by Captain (Sister) Wilma Oram, of 13 Australian General Hospital, while she was held as a prisoner of war of the Japanese on Sumatra. After the war she married Alan Livingstone Young, who had been a prisoner of war in Germany. Wilma Young died in 2001.
