CIMIC worked with Iraqi civilians to undertake projects within their villages such as building and restoration of roads, irrigation, power plants and water supply, as well as schools, community centres, veterinary centres, slaughter houses and ambulance and fire stations, and usually paid local contractors to complete the work.
