History / Summary
Associated with the service of 50036 Gunner Percy Walter Cox, born 26 July 1899 in Northcote, Victoria. Cox, an 18 year old student, had spent four years in the Senior Cadets before enlisting as a private in the AIF on 5 September 1917. On 21 March 1918 he sailed for England aboard HMAT Persic, and in May joined 21 Battalion. Cox was later remustered as a gunner and travelled to France where he joined 4 Field Artillery Brigade. He returned to Australia aboard HMAT Ulysses in 2 September 1919.
