35 Battalion Memorial Chapel, 1945
Description
A chapel built by the 35 Infantry Battalion AIF, at Alexishafen, New Guinea, in 1945. The chapel was built in a coconut plantation from palm logs, a thatched palm leaf roof, and waterproofed Hessian walls. The seating, communion rails and pulpit were made from coconut logs.
