Photo/postcard: Opening of Lithgow Memorial
Description
Ceremony at the Lithgow War Memorial. General Ryrie attended to unveil the relics captured by the 20th Battalion. A wreath was laid by a mother, Mrs Callaghan, who had lost three sons all killed during the First World War: Stanley Owen James Callaghan, Walter Leslie James Callaghan, and Horace William James Callaghan. Mrs Callaghan drew aside a flag which veiled an additional panel of names added to the memorial for the same event.
